My approach is integrative, relational and shaped around the individual in front of me.
An integrative approach
My core counselling approach is person-centred. This means I believe you hold an innate capacity for growth when you are met within a relationship built on empathy, honesty, acceptance and psychological safety.
Where appropriate, I also draw upon psychodynamic theory, transactional analysis and cognitive behavioural therapy.
These approaches are not applied mechanically. They are used thoughtfully and only when they serve the individual, the relationship and the work we are doing together.
Growth becomes possible within a relationship built on empathy, honesty, acceptance and psychological safety.
Helps us understand how earlier experiences and relationships may continue to shape the present.
Helps us recognise the roles, patterns and internal messages influencing how we relate to ourselves and others.
Helps us examine connections between thoughts, emotions and behaviour and find practical ways to respond differently.
I do not work from a script. I work with the person in front of me.
Coaching, mentoring and counselling have different purposes and boundaries. Counselling is currently offered only through approved trainee placement arrangements. Therapy-informed support is not presented as private counselling or psychotherapy.
